About me

I’m Sam Hart, founder of Rosegate Tax.

For almost 30 years, I’ve been helping successful individuals and families make the most of their wealth, protecting it, growing it, and making sure it’s passed on in the right way.

My work is highly technical, but my approach is personal. I believe the best advice comes from really knowing my clients, understanding not just the numbers, but the people, stories, and aspirations behind them.

Over the years, I’ve:

• Advised high-net-worth clients across a wide range of tax and estate planning issues

• Co-authored CGT for SMEs and Entrepreneurs (Bloomsbury Professional)

• Served as an examiner for STEP and the Chartered Institute of Taxation

• Sat on STEP’s editorial board, shaping thought leadership in our profession

I specialise in private client tax, including inheritance tax planning, capital gains tax, trusts, Family Investment Companies, residence and domicile, and offshore matters.

Outside the office, you’re more likely to find me in a rugby shirt than a boardroom, or swimming lengths to clear my head. I’m also known for my love of a challenge, whether it’s tackling a tricky tax problem or trying something completely new.

Why Rosegate?

I founded Rosegate Tax because I wanted to create a service that combined the depth of expertise found in large firms with the personal attention and long term relationship of a trusted adviser.
